Description

brass, with patina, two pairs of birds on frame (trap?), several species of birds: hornbill, ibis, chicken, head of a cock;
proverb combined with the hornbill: “The great hornbill, I have lifted myself up, so the smaller ones should bow down” (said by the town crier when a paramount chief approaches his subordinate chiefs).


The object Eight goldweights: birds with the object ID 3036293 was part of the auction 76th tribal art auction on March 22, 2014. The object with the lot number 370 achieved a sales price of EUR 110 with an asking price of EUR 100.
