Description

brass, traces of corrosion, lead added in some places to increase the weight, decorated with concentrical ridges or spiral motifs, the latter are interpreted as rams horn design or as “sankofa”, the backwards looking bird that proverbially admonishes us to “Learn from ones past”.


The object Eight geometrical goldweights with the object ID 3036419 was part of the auction 76th tribal art auction on March 22, 2014. The object with the lot number 249 achieved a sales price of EUR 160 with an asking price of EUR 150.
