Description

wood, dark brown encrusted patina, animal skin, the corpus carved with various motifs in half relief, the drum skin fixed by wooden plugs, min. dam., missing parts through insect caused damage, fissures, slight traces of abrasion;
such drums were used to announce the society’s meetings and its decisions regarding punishment for kings or commonors who had committed offenses against “onile”.
