Description

wood, brown patina, unusual representation, two figures (male/female) with cylindrical torsi rising from one pair of legs, partly coated with resin-like mass inset with abrus seeds (partly missing), min. dam., minor missing parts, slight traces of abrasion;
presumably a variation of the “tauwa” figure type, where a female version “tau-kendoa” and a male version “tau-wandoa” are known. They have no connection with ancestral cult; they present protective figures, which mainly should help against snake venom, but are used at harvest festivities as well.
