Description

wood, partly encrusted brown patina, remains of pigments, in form of a standing female figure with angular shoulders and accentuated breasts, face with drilled eyes and crested coiffure, complete with crossbar, rep. (breakage back of the head), slight traces of abrasion, base;
locks of this type are of North African and Islamic origin. This finely carved example offered the protective power of ancestral spirits to the granary it guarded.


The object Door lock with the object ID 3042399 was last part of the auction 86th Tribal Art Auction at May 27, 2017 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 197 achieved a sales price of EUR 3,000.
