Description

light brown wood, brown patina, in flat relief carved with a standing female figure, holding to items (shovel and sickle?) in her hands, min. dam., minor missing parts through insect caused damage, slight traces of abrasion, metal socle;
carved doors had largely disappeared from Baule villages by the 1960s. Some were completely visible on the outside of houses. Others were for interior rooms, and were seldom seen by anyone outside the family.
