Description

wood, 15 holy palm nuts inside, interior divided into four compartments round a circular middle section, the “ifa” oracle tray forms the cover of the box, insect caused damage (bottom)

Two processions of animals walk right and left in the direction of the head of “eshu”. The animals are all rendered in the typical Oshogbo style.

This boxes served to store the utensils of the “Ifa” diviner (holy palm nuts “ikin”, “opele” divination chain, “iroke ifa” tapper, small bone figures “ikin ifa”).
