Description
Woven basket filled with small carved figurines, bone fragments and an animal paw, plant materials, cowrie shells.
The most esteemed diviners within Chokwe society strive to attain omniscience by constantly searching their surroundings for ingredients with which to recreate a small microcosm. Gathered in a woven basket, this chaotic accumulation, through continual visual recombinations, offers insight into the human condition.
