Probably a work of the well-known Yoruba carver Onakunle Aribikon or his workshop. A work of the master pictured at Fagg, 1982, Plate 62.

A nearly identical “oshe shango” staff from the Josef Mueller collection was called up on 13 June 1978 as lot 107 at Christie’s London (AHDRC 0104712).


The object Dance wand “oshe shango” with the object ID 3045450 was last part of the auction 91 Tribal Art Auction at March 9, 2019 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 251.
