Description

wood, blackish brown patina, cowrie shells, leather, animal sinews, leather-coated staff with four “eshu” dance staffs attached, inbetween seventeen strings of cowrie shells, spread with blackish mass and indigo blue pigment, strap for suspension from animal sinews, slightly dam., strings of cowrie shells missing in parts, one piece loose;
these vestments are carried by “eshu” priests during public ceremonies to honour the deity.
