Description

light brown wood, matt patina, remains of pigments, elongated corpus with a flattened slightly vaulted back, min. dam., missing parts through insect caused damage, cracks, traces of abrasion.
“Syonfolo” - the “Master of the Horse” seizes the dance horse between his legs when he appears at “ngoro” ceremonies. Two straps across the shoulders keep the horse in position. The masquerade is completed by a net-like costume with long leatherstrips with seeds attached, swirling around his body when dancing.
