wood, black and dark brown patina, indigo blue paint, mirror glass eyes, slightly dam., missing parts through insect caused damage (right rim), cracks (calotte, coiffure), base;
the ancestors come to the town in the form of “egungun” to cleanse the community of wrongdoing and misfortune. They are called “ara orun” - “visitors form the other world”.


The object Dance crest “egungun” with the object ID 3035872 was last part of the auction 75th tribal art auction at November 30, 2013 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 350 achieved a sales price of EUR 200.
