Description

wood, encrusted dark brown patina, leather band, metal, calotte with horns, crowned by a stylized cocks crown, dam., missing parts, traces of insect caused damage;
a work of the artist “Oketi of Ojekpama”.
Used at the fourth or fifth day of funerary rites for the “ekpeshi” dance. According to Leuzinger it was worn by companions of the chief when he visited a neighbouring village.
