Description

damask steel blade, handle in shape of a horse head made from glass or rock crystal (rare!), painted with bridle and floral elements in gold paint, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion, light wooden sheath stretched with blue velvet;
the name “khanjar” is Arab and means knife or dagger and is used in many countries for many different weapons. Usually it shows a pistol-shaped hilt made from wood, bone, ivory or in rare cases from glass, sometimes formed as a horse head or floral elements. The blades are always sharp and pointed, sometime also serrated.


The object Dagger “khanjar” with the object ID 3042246 was last part of the auction 86th Tribal Art Auction at May 27, 2017 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 105 achieved a sales price of EUR 450.
