These carved panels were anchored in the ground in pairs and connected at the upper end by a horizontal board.

At times, they were displayed in the “ebandza” cult house as part of the mourning ceremonies (“ghebenda”) of the “bwete” society.

The panels were carved with heads representing the ancestral pair of the Tsogho, Nzambe-Kana and Disumba.
