Description

wood, dyed with red pigment, the eyes inset with metal tags, male/female, uniform bodies with massive round shoulders, the respective gender accentuated, the heads placed directly on the shoulders, the facial features carved crudely, slightly dam., missing parts (feet), cracks, on plate;
Chamba figures display seemingly non-human features which may relate to their function as intermediaries between the spirit and human realms.
