Description
tortoise shell, back opening closed with Sarcocaulon resin and plant fibres, partly coated with bead netting, strings of white miniature glass beads attached, soft piece of leather with remains of pigments inside.
The “buchu” box was permanent part of women clothing. It served for keeping “buchu”, an aromatic powder made from the “buchu” leaves which was used for regularly rubbing the body and the face.
