Description
turtle shell, back opening closed with Sarcocaulon resin, coated with beaded netting from ostrich egg shells, attached to beaded necklace;
the “buchu” box was permanent part of women clothing. It served for keeping “buchu”, an aromatic powder made from the “buchu” leaves which was used for regularly rubbing the body and the face.
The object Container for “buchu” with the object ID 3042265 was part of the auction 86th Tribal Art Auction on May 27, 2017. The object with the lot number 515 achieved a sales price of EUR 500 with an asking price of EUR 300.
