Description

heavy wood, middle brown slightly blotched patina, lance-shaped paddle blade with raised middle ridge on both sides, handle zone round in cross-section, slightly dam. (tips on top and at the bottom), cracks, abrasion of paint.
Niue island is a tiny coral island in the South Pacific. Niuean traditional culture was closely related to Tonga. Niuean objects in museums and private collections include spears and clubs, and also elegant bowls.


The object Club “ula-fumiti” with the object ID 3043286 was last part of the auction 88th Tribal Art Auction at March 10, 2018 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 53 achieved a sales price of EUR 2,000.
