wood, brown patina, underneath the bowl-shaped mace-head coated with plaited metal wire, min. dam., cracks, slight traces of abrasion;
the south african club or “knobkerrie” is a symbol for the Zulu. A man always carried one with him, because it was an effective weapon made from hard wood (very often teak).
