Phelps describes a connection with Fidji clubs of the “bow(v)ai” type, except that the striking heads of the present object are flattened at the top. (Phelps, 1976, p. 164)

A beautiful detail is the stylised figures incorporated into the intricate carvings on the lower half.


The object Club with the object ID 3051701 was part of the auction Auction 104 on April 12, 2025. The object with the lot number 231 achieved a sales price of EUR 8,500 with an asking price of EUR 3,000.
