Description

wood, blackish brown patina, partly encrusted, round seat rising from slightly bent legs, the rectangular backrest carved with anthropomorphic head and indicated breasts, incised decor and rectangular emblems on shoulder blades, slightly dam., minor missing parts, cracks, abrasion of paint;
such stools with backrest were used by chief’s, when they sat in judgement and for initiation rituals.
