Description

metal, tulip-shaped blade of thin metal sheet hammered with traditional patterns, ring-shaped handle, min. dam., traces of usage and corrosion;
on many bronze slabs of Benin origin - some made before the 16th century - we can see the chief holding such a tulip-shaped sword in his hands, as a symbol for power and prestige.
