Description

wooden shaft with brown patina, black paint, red pigment, artificially plaited rotan cuff with T-shaped projecting arms, a flat blade of slaty-like stone on one side and a blade-shaped projection of hard wood on the opposite, decorated with fine grooves and diamond-shaped ornament in red paint, slightly dam., minor missing parts;
axes of that kind were produced for ceremonial purposes, because of their great value used as primitive money.
