Description

wood, black patina, bracelets of blackened metal, a standing female figure carrying a round bowl on the head, a massive staff providing additional support, band decor with notched ornaments running around the neck of the receptacle and the rim of the base, slightly dam., missing part at the bottom of the receptacle, rep. (rim of the bowl, bottom of the staff), crack (base);
a comparable piece was sold at Sotheby’s Paris, Collection Nicole et John Dintenfass, 23 June 2006, lot 29.
