Description

wood, dark brown patina, burled coiffure dyed with camwood powder, rich scarification marks, drilled holes for magical loading, pupils probably once with inlay, slightly dam., rep. (breakages at base and seat);
the maternity-motif symbolically reinforces Chokwe precepts regarding the matrilineal inheritance of royal titles.
