wood, dark brown patina, crowned by a human head with stylized facial features and pointed headgear, min. dam., slight traces of usage, on base;
various people of Zaire, including the Pende, the Suku, and the Yaka, carry palm wine gourds fitted with wood stoppers carved in the form of human heads or complete figures and show aspects of each group’s style.
