Description

wood, entirely coated with coarse sacking, dyed in blue in the facial area, embroidered with cowrie snails, bead applications reforming the contours of the mask, the stylized horns accentuated by red fabric, slightly dam., minor tears in the fabric, minor missing parts in the wood backside, metal socle;
buffalo masks are part of nearly every masquerade of the secret societies. The buffalo is associated with strength, courage and power - attributes every king should have.
