Buddha Gautama Sakyamuni shows a youthful face with lowered lids, the small mouth is surrounded by a tender smile. The head and “ushnisa” (symbol of his ultimate wisdom) are covered with accurately worked curls and are crowned by a separately worked lotus bud. The elongated earlobes reflect his royal origin.


The object Buddha head with the object ID 3045993 was part of the auction 93rd Tribal Art Auction on November 16, 2019. The object with the lot number 31 achieved a sales price of EUR 900 with an asking price of EUR 800.
