Excavation finds prove that these magnificent gauntlets were worn as arm decoration by particularly privileged persons.

It is also probable that they were used on altars, where they served as a base for wooden or pumpkin calabashes.


The object Broad arm cuff with the object ID 3047124 was part of the auction 95th Tribal Art Auction on October 24, 2020. The object with the lot number 223 achieved a sales price of EUR 2,800 with an asking price of EUR 800.
