Description

wickerwork head attached to the shell of a giant “Turbo marmoratus” snail, dyed with colourful pigments (red, blue, white, black), crowned by a small hornbill head, good condition, metal base;
the complete object is kept and used by the Yangoru or traded to the Iatmul, who use these composite works of art as bride-prices.


The object Bride-price “talipun” with the object ID 3037090 was last part of the auction 77th tribal art auction at June 28, 2014 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 40.
