Description

ivory, slightly shiny patina, of oval form, rep. (breakage), cracks through age;
the origin of such bare bracelets without decor can hardly be determined. Among the Baule for example, it was a sign of wealth for a man to be able to offer such a bracelet to his “senior wife” when he married a second woman.


The object Bracelet with the object ID 3034382 was last part of the auction 72nd tribal art auction at March 9, 2013 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 255 achieved a sales price of EUR 450.
