Description

wood, black and red paint, kaolin, plant fibre, slightly dam. (beak), missing parts, rep. (vertical crack/breakage underneath the left eye), insect caused damage, abrasion of paint.
Present mask is an example for the further development of the classic “kifwebe” mask type.


The object Bird mask “kifwebe” with the object ID 3042814 was last part of the auction 88th Tribal Art Auction at March 10, 2018 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 438 achieved a sales price of EUR 800.
