Description

silver (226 g), elaborate decorated, delicately embossed and engraved, representing “Kirtimukha” (= " face of glory"), which should defend its owner from demonic attacks, screw closure, on metal base;
such large amulet boxes were worn by itinerant ascetics in Southern India. They contain holy scripts, yantras or relics from places of pilgrimage.
