Description

wood, polychrome paint, real hair, red dyed facial plane, eye and mouth area enclosed by short cut bunches of hair, separate carved wooden ornaments originally framing the face (mostly broken out), slightly dam., traces of insect caused damage, abrasion of paint, traces of old age;
in traditional Balinese dramas and processions (“topeng”, “barong”, “wayang wong” and “calonarang”) a great variety of different masks is used.
