The inhabitants of the islands of Gatame and Gidico in Lake Abaya are considered to be the creators of these shields. They usually received food, tools and other essential goods in exchange.

The shields were used by the Amarro, who were known to be particularly warlike, the Arussi and Gurage.


The object Battle shield with the object ID 3051142 was part of the auction Auction 103 on November 16, 2024. The object with the lot number 399 achieved a sales price of EUR 850 with an asking price of EUR 800.
