The Lega make replicas of tools from everyday life. There are replicas of knives, hips, hammers, pounders and axe blades, mostly made of elephant bone or ivory.

The possession of these objects is reserved for members of the “kindi” initiation level. They are ritually danced and serve the transmission of secret messages.


The object Ax blade- shaped object with the object ID 3046012 was part of the auction 93rd Tribal Art Auction on November 16, 2019. The object with the lot number 272 achieved a sales price of EUR 900 with an asking price of EUR 600.
