Description
wood, brown patina, grey pigment remains, nails, pierced round eyes and mouth, incised cheek and raised temple scarifications, dam., missing parts (horn tips), slight traces of abrasion;
probably a variation of the “karikpo” mask type. The horns symbolize superhuman power and strength.
The object Anthropo/zoomorphic mask with horns with the object ID 3040455 was last part of the auction 83rd Tribal Art Auction at May 28, 2016 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 289 achieved a sales price of EUR 1,000.
