For a pipe bowl by the same artist, see AHDRC 0017141. Another comparable piece shown in Cremer (2004), p. 176, ill. 103.

Both the bowl made of terracotta and the face carved on the wooden shaft are remarkably filigree, with clearly cut fine facial features and finely detailed incised decor.


The object Anthropomorphic pipe “kiindzu” with the object ID 3045770 was last part of the auction 92nd Tribal Art Auction at June 29, 2019 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 243 achieved a sales price of EUR 600.
