wood, whitened faces, facial features and ornamental scarifications accentuated by black paint, small remains of red and indigo blue pigments, ornamental appendages, four separately worked ornaments fixed by nails, slightly dam., traces of insect caused damage, abrasion of paint, rep. (one of the ornaments broken), base;
northern Igbo masks take many forms: helmets of various configurations, face masks and a variety of headdresses and crest types.
