The mask is variously attributed to the Nyamwesi or the closely related Sumbwa. Due to the considerable stylistic overlap between the two groups, a definitive attribution remains difficult.


The object Anthropomorphic mask with the object ID 3052800 was part of the auction Auction 106 on April 25, 2026, lot number 398 at that time and is currently available for EUR 6,000 in Open sale.
