Felix reported in 2003 on a comparable mask found near Lusambo, among the Sungu / Tetela (cf. AHDRC 0042733).
Formal and stylistic features such as box shape, grooved decoration and protruding mouth are reminiscent of “kifwebe” masks of the Songye.
