Description

wood, softly luminous reddish brown patina, inserted wooden plugs and mass encrustations in the eye zone, hewers from inserted animal teeth, strips from animal skin above the mouth and at the chin, various magical appendages (rings, metal bells, tufts from human hair), slightly dam., two cracks backside at the rim, base;
presumably an actor mask “bagle”, which served for entertainment.


The object Anthropomorphic mask with the object ID 3041239 was part of the auction 84th Tribal Art Auction on November 5, 2016. The object with the lot number 91 achieved a sales price of EUR 2,600 with an asking price of EUR 2,500.
