Present mask belongs to a very rare mask type which was in the possession of a prophesying society called “idiong” (compare Schädler, 2009, p. 210).


The object Anthropomorphic mask with the object ID 3040372 was last part of the auction 89th Tribal Art Auction at July 7, 2018 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 261 achieved a sales price of EUR 2,000.
