Description
wood, blackish brown patina, encrusted in some areas, board-shaped base, the actual narrow mask face superimposed, half-spherical forehead, carved with an indicated second face, the teeth inset with wooden splinters, chin plug, slightly dam., cracks, paint rubbed off, water spots, on base;
depicting a person called “the hunter”. The masks are carved by the person who wears it lateron. It is completed by a plant fibre costume which covers the most part of the body.
The object Anthropomorphic mask with the object ID 3033392 was last part of the auction 70th tribal art auction at September 8, 2012 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 215 achieved a sales price of EUR 2,400.
