These bell-shaped helmet masks appear during the circumcision of the boys. They are found among a number of peoples in southwestern Zaire, especially the Suku, but also the Yaka, Mbala, Hungaan, Pindi, Kwese and Pende.


The object Anthropomorphic helmet mask with the object ID 3045953 was last part of the auction 93rd Tribal Art Auction at November 16, 2019 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 265 achieved a sales price of EUR 400.
