On the mask are four square openings, which served to place magical charge. Two of them (on the buttocks) are closed by fitted pieces of wood.
A comparable mask is shown in the exhibition catalog of the Rietberg Museum (Kunst der Könige, 2008, p. 235).
The object Anthropomorphic helmet mask with the object ID 3045448 was last part of the auction 91 Tribal Art Auction at March 9, 2019 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 267 achieved a sales price of EUR 3,500.
