This female figure shows a strikingly slender body with elongated limbs
and accentuated navel. The small head with massive, rectangular
openwork side scoops is particularly eye catching.
These stylistic features are found on three other Mumuye figures, one ex Galerie Pierre and Claude Vérité (AHDRC 0098179), a second ex Jaques Kerchache (AHDRC 0127608) and a third ex Harry A. Franklin (AHDRC 0098166). They can all be assigned to one workshop.
The object Anthropomorphic figure “jagana” with the object ID 3049689 was last part of the auction 102nd Auction at April 13, 2024 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 191 achieved a sales price of EUR 700.
