Masks with ram’s horns, metal teeth and red fabric around the eyes were classified by Holas as war masks “nyomou kpman hine”.

They were kept in the house of the military commander of the village and participated after victory in sharing spoils of war.


The object Anthropomorphic face mask with horns with the object ID 3047754 was last part of the auction 96th Auction at April 24, 2021 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 99 achieved a sales price of EUR 450.
