Description

wood, brown patina, vertical (male) type with grooved horns, body and head partly stud with punched copper sheet, mane and pierced septum provided with red fibre tassels, handwritten collection number “041131” at the base, min. dam., small missing parts, base.
This “tjiwara” is strongly influenced by Marka workshops, as could be seen by the typical metal applications and the elongated facial proportions.


The object Antelope dance crest “tjiwara” with the object ID 3042588 was last part of the auction 87th Tribal Art Auction at November 11, 2017 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 194 achieved a sales price of EUR 2,500.
